Since 1940 the Cuellar brothers carried on the tradition of authentic Tex-Mex cuisine. Now under new management, the restaurant continues to flourish. The casual, family-friendly ambience is particularly inviting to families with large appetites who want to refuel after a long day. The extensive menu even provides such specialties as Mama's Sampler ($8.89) -- a cheese-and-onion enchilada and tamale topped with chili con carne, plus a chile relleno with ranchero sauce and a crispy beef taco, all served with rice and beans. The kid's menu allows children under 12 to feast on everything from corn dogs to Mexican pizza for no more than $2.99 (drink included). Their award- winning Mexican Margaritas are also worth a try, during a meal or while watching the game on their color TV beforehand.

Disappointing
By mac1tx on 07/04/2007
My favorite restaurant let me down. Last Saturday night was the worse meal I have ever eaten at ElChico's. I was so upset. Didn't complain at the time but it was awful. I'll wait a while and give it another try. Hopefully it was a once in a lifetime deal.

Five stars

The flavoring of the food is exceptional. We especially like the Frijoles Ranchero and the spinach and beef enchiladas.

The Worst!

This has to be the worst place to go for "Mexican" food. Service sucks, Menu sucks, and just try to get a refill on your tea.
