As longtime residents will tell you, Crisfield Seafood Restaurant is an institution. Unlike its fancier competitors, this place sticks to its shirtsleeves informality, and just about anything goes. Its decor suggests a fisherman's hangout, with prints of sailing sloops gracing the walls. Its seafood comes the way ships' hands would eat it, without any downtown fussiness. Evenings can be crowded, and you may find yourself squeezed onto a barstool at the main counter-tables are at a premium. Wait patiently for the kitchen's bonanza: its very basic seafood dishes, from fried oysters (in season) and flounder stuffed with crab meat to fried sea scallops and fish dishes cooked in the Norfolk style. The seafood bisque is a creamy-chunky mixture loaded with fish; soft-shells are treated with great respect and fried quite crisply. Desserts are limited; try the moist house pound cake.

Overated food + awful service
By boogerleaf on 02/16/2008
We just got back from the famous Crisfield's in Silver Spring, MD and were both sorely disappointed! We were really looking forward to the meal, but the oysters were bad, the service was among the worst I've had, and there was nothing so special about the "Crisfield Special". I've had better food and service at a cheap fish camp.

changin of the guard.....

Over the past couple of years i've noticed the the seafood is not the same top quality seafood that has been served in the past.. it's as if the restaurant is tring to save money, but than again raise the prices...I have stopped going in there because of that reason....The original owner's took pride in what they sold there customers..the changing of the guards sounds correct..they sell old seafood at fresh seafood prices....I could always tell when seafood is fresh, and crisfields seafood is not fresh at all.....I blame the new owners..stop being cheap and bring crisfields back to where it used to be........................................................................

Crisfields on georgia was alright, however, people talk about how good there crab cakes are, I have tasted much better crab cakes than crisfield's. It was not impressed. I heard many stories about the colesville road crisfield's. I heard that one was good, but then it just changed. Try Bay N Surf in Laurel, delcious cream of crab soup and crab cakes
