Iota Club & Cafe   

Whether you're angling for an ambience that's fairly low key or desperately seeking a stage where you can wail on your electric guitar, the Iota Club and Cafe fits the bill. Not only does this small, friendly neighborhood spot book solid alternative country and roots rock acts, but it also encourages public self-expression. Most nights the performers are good opening acts and astounding headliners you've never heard of, but open mic nights are a regular event at Iota. Fittingly, there's only an iota of space between you, everyone else in the audience and whoever is on stage -- which provides not just great views, but great mingling opportunities too. Bar stools and a place to set your drink are far and few between, but you might snag a good perch if you're an early bird.
