Small concerts..great place! 08/28/2005

Spectacular!! Pink Martini Band came to DC and this place was the best for it's music. Great sound system.!!!

One of the Best 05/20/2005

I went to a Backstreet Boys concert there in March. It was great! Because it's open-floor (no seating), the best place is definitely on the balcony looking directly at the stage. Had a great time and the wait outside wasn't too bad. Decent part of town!

Pretty cool place - but as someone said before, "watch out for the bouncers - jerks on a power trip"....big time. You'll know specifically who I'm talking about when you see him...

ah man, i love this place. i've seen the stills, badly drawn boy, death cab for cutie, franz ferdinand.. the list goes on. every show is entertaining and intimate, much better then those constitution hall shows. i've been to sold out shows and they didn't seem crowded - it's very well run. i'm 15 and have gone by myself a few times, the neighborhood's nothing to worry about if you grew up in/know dc.

9:30 Club brought the realness! 08/17/2004

I thoroughly enjoyed the Jill Scott concert held at the 9:30 club. My best friend and I took the subway...very interesting (not the best choice-DRIVE-N-PARK!)Ne way the outside had me sorta irked out, but once I stepped inside that feeling was gone and it was one of the most intimate experiences with the audience and performer that I'd had...much better than those constitutional hall with the seating and all. 4 out of 5 stars.

My boyfriend and I are always down for new music and thanks to the 9:30 club, we get a chance to see our fave bands up close and personal. Great place to kick back and be yourself.

The best of the best 04/22/2004

9:30 is a dc institution, it is perhaps the best venue for live performances in a once gritty atmosphere you are ever going to experience. Please do not bring your suburban status qou attitude. The 9:30 sits in once formerly was one of dc's worst neighborhoods. It's very gangster on the outside. But once you step into the 9:30, whatever act your there to see will uplift your experience. All the underground and alternative heads know the 9:30. The original 9:30 was edgy, she remains edgy in her new location. I saw Run-DMC and the dead kennedys and dc's fugazi, along with dc's own original go-go hall of famers trouble funk at the 9:30, simply incredible. Many 9:30 imitations have passed through dc. The 9:30 remains. Bring your attitude and have fun, and let go of your ego. And you'll dig the 9:30.

Downstairs Bar 04/12/2004

The downstairs bar at the 9:30 club is awesome on Saturdays. Good djs.
