Pizza purists grouse when you speak of this super-popular restaurant. No longer just lying in bags and boxes with oily spots on the outside, pizza has changed in definition, thanks to Pizza Luce. Evolving palates around the Metro have discovered that a pizza is round, usually has cheese and a sauce, and after that, can hold whatever you want to put on it. (Mock duck and corn, for example.) If you like to pile it on, somewhere around 25-35 toppings and many cheeses are available here. Hoagies, salads and pastas fill out the extensive, tasty menu. Vegetarian and vegan-friendly? Oh, yes, all the way from appetizers to desserts. Luce' also keeps late hours to accommodate the roving bar crowd and partiers who got stuck with chips and dip. Consider the takeout or delivery options when you're hungry at the same time as everyone else -- the original downtown location in particular can get jammed. Cars enter and exit the convenient, more family-friendly Lyndale site parking lot all day long.
