While the flagship location of Tony Packo's Cafe is best known for the world-famous Hungarian hot dogs its been selling to happy customers since 1932, its also a beloved, casual watering hole for natives looking to have a good time. Folks often stop by to linger at the bar, catch a sporting event playing on one of four TVs, or hear the live jazz offered on Friday and Saturday nights. With a fun, laid-back atmosphere, the family-owned and -operated Packos has become something of a celebrity institution in Toledo over the years. First, it was written into several episodes of the TV sitcom M*A*S*H, making it a familiar name to the entire country. Then, starting with Burt Reynolds back in 1972, Packos began collecting celebrity autographs on their hot dog buns, which were then enshrined on its walls. If you or a friend visit Packo's in a wheelchair, be aware that while the restaurant is wheelchair-accessible, the bathrooms are not. If you leave Toledo and still crave the Packos experience, take some small consolation in the fact that Tony Packos products are now carried in grocery stores all over the country.

To close to closing time......
By froggie0816 on 06/08/2007
They refused to serve us. It was 20 minutes before closing. Normally we enjoy their food, never had any problems until this one. And as for the comment down below addressed " FOR THE TOURISTS " going to Cincinnati for Chili is a big mistake, unless you like Cocoa & Cinnamon in your Chili. Honestly a better hot-dog place is Rudy's Hot-dog or Idea Hot-dog. At least they served us close to closing time in the past. : )
