For more than 10 years, residents of Toledo and northwest Ohio have enjoyed top-notch shows at Connxtions Comedy Club -- the only comedy club in the entire area. The club is essentially a big, dark, wooden room that seats 350 people at small tables. There is no bar area per se, but the wait staff serves you a choice of 12 beers, mixed drinks (from a full bar) and appetizers. While short on dcor, Connxtions consistently delivers what people are looking for when they go there: good, bellyaching comedy. With up to 10 special (read: big name) shows a year, in addition to the usual regional acts, Connxtions hosts the same comics "you see doing the late-night TV talk-show circuit." Famous names that have graced their stage include Damon Wayans, Jerry Seinfeld, Bob "Bobcat" Goldthwait, Tommy Chong and Victoria Jackson. Aspiring comics who hope to one day fall into that big-name category can brush up on their acts each Wednesday during Connxtions open-mike session.
