Everything old is new again at the timeless Columbia Restaurant, founded in 1905 as an eatery for cigar makers. Now covering a square block, the restaurant is Florida's oldest culinary tribute to Cuban delights. Elaborate wrought iron grills, archways and palm trees set a Latin mood. If you're around during the lunchtime hours, order a juicy Cuban sandwich. Regulars return for tempting tapas, ranging from Cuban caviar (black beans) to skewered shrimp a la plancha.

Two succulent paellas keep on pleasing, along with snapper alicante. Try the picadillo crillo, Cuba's blue plate special made with ground beef, raisins, capers and olives. Can't make up your mind? Go for 'la completa Cubana.' The dish includes roasted pork, Cuban tamales, plantanos, yucca, black beans and rice.
