When downtown workers take a lunch break, many make the short trek to Laclede's Landing for one of the best burgers in town. This is no secret hideaway that just you and your coworkers know about. If you want sustenance and sunshine, it's best to get there long before the noon whistle or there is little chance to stake your claim on one of the prime deck tables. Nobody builds a better burger than you, right? When your patty comes up, head over to condiment central and stack as much onion and pickle as you want. All of your favorite toppings are there. If you have a beef with beef, chicken wings, awesome hot dogs and a couple of other sandwiches are available. About the time you finish another productive day or week of work, Sundecker's is transformed into a hoppin' nightlife destination. There is live music on weekends and more big crowds, mostly of the collegiate variety after the sun goes down. Beer is the beverage of choice at the cool, old-time bar. -- BE
