Rate and Write a Review Attracting a business crowd at lunch, neighborhood noshers for happy hour, families for dinner and college kids after sundown, South City's Stella Blues Restaurant and Bar (which garnered its name from a Grateful Dead song) is truly the definition of diverse. This small, cozy corner bar has been completely remodeled -- the only original features left intact from the previous dozen bars that have occupied the space are the hardwood floors, ornate wood bar and amazing tin ceiling. The menu is modern, as well, incorporating sundry fried appetizers (cheese balls, onion rings, popcorn shrimp), pizzas, sandwiches, salads (Greek, Caesar, taco) and entrees (at $12.99, they may very well have the cheapest grilled beef tenderloin in the city). You won't find AB on tap here -- they prefer more ''exotic'' beers such as Stella Artois, 90 Schilling and Blue Moon. Aside from the few colorful accents, the ''blues'' part comes into play with live blues and rock on Friday and Saturday nights.
