The Cinnamon Twisp Bakery is a co-operative effort, with all members sharing in the joys and labors of running the business. Open since 1994, the bakery emphasizes local, organic ingredients, using nothing artificial in its products. So dedicated to this effort are the bakers that a list of ingredients for all the bakery's items is available at the counter. Breads are baked fresh daily, the kinds varying by the day. Among those in the rotation are anadama, garlic sourdough, hazelnut, three seed, golden rye and sunflower barley. Hand-crafted bagels in a variety of flavors are made fresh each morning, too. Brownies, date bars and all manner of cookies are also available, along with homemade vegetarian soups, black and herbal teas, and organic coffee. The bakery takes orders for cakes, pies and special treats. Call two days in advance to order.
