A New York-style Italian restaurant and pizzeria, this place is noted for its large entre portions and sandwiches as well as for its Neapolitan- and Sicilian-style pizzas. Although popular with locals and always busy, the restaurant does not accept reservations so arrive early. Large, delicious portions of homemade Italian entrees sell for moderate prices. Lasagna is a favorite. Also try the noteworthy house wines. The decor is casual and functional, but the busy pace of the place adds to its cosmopolitan ambiance.

What's the big deal?!
By HllywdGreen on 06/19/2008
I always read reveiws and try out places that majority says is great. Ihear alot about this place so i decide to try. What's the big deal?! Their Pizza was dry and hard. Seemed as if it had been sitting out and then reheated in a microwave. The service wasn't bad but it also wasn't something that wowed me like i heard it would. My waitress didn't even smile at me. The place has been there forever and it shows. The look of the place is that of a dirty rundown old motel with cheesey fixtures. The rest of downtown is growing and re-building while this place is falling apart. I think people should raise their standards maybe just a tad bit!

PLEASE BE ADVISED.... my husband and i went to this restaurant for dinner which we have been going to and ordering pizza from for years. Until this experience we liked it....after coming home for a couple of hours my husband became very ill i immediately called the owner and was told he was busy on another call and he would call me back. I waited a half an hour but no call, and had to call back myself. After i got him on the phone he didn't seem very concerned passing off my concerns, i kept asking him to make sure he checked his VEAL and he said it was not his VEAL it must have been something else my husband ate (which he didn't have anything else all day nor did he drink), because his VEAL if it was bad would have taken 24 hours to get my husband ill. well, unknown to him.....my husband and myself are in the restaurant business for 20 years i am a bartender/ manager and my husband is a kitchen manager and through classes about this exact subject we know that each case is different and it could take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours to become ill NOT 24 hours. In the end he implied that we wanted something from him like our $$ back which was so not the case... i never said i did so because of his attitude, non concern and implications we left it as i will contact the health dept in the morning, he came across as not caring and without concern but i should have known that when i placed the call to begin with and he wouldn't take it because he was too busy. Unfortunately even though i think they have great pizza, we will not return to this establishment. I will proceed to inform the health dept in the morning to make sure no other person has to go through this.
