There's plenty of festive Mexican food and drink to be found on the upper level of the Scottsdale Mall. The Hacienda Mexican Restaurant is a full- service establishment that's open daily. The atmosphere is casual, but the food is serious Mexican. A host of appetizers includes nachos, habanero rings and white chili. Among the entrees are burritos, tacos, enchiladas, fajitas, chimichangas and flame-broiled salmon. For those who can't limit their choice to just one, there are many combination platters as well. Specialties of the house are frozen margaritas and Wet Burritos -- flour tortillas stuffed with ground beef and black beans, topped with Hacienda Sauce and two cheeses. There are variations on the Wet Burrito, including one with red potatoes, chiles and onions. A children's menu offers a choice of five items, each priced at $2.99. And for dessert: churros, the Chocolate Mountain Mudslide or the Enchocolada, two mocha tortillas wrapped around cheesecake filling with raspberries topped with chocolate sauce, whipped cream and a cherry. All items are available for carryout.
