This lounge, part of the Hyatt Regency in Historic Downtown Savannah, serves mainly hotel clientele and visiting conventioneers. But that doesnt stop locals and other visitors from wandering in for a pleasant evening, meal and musical experience. M.D.s boasts one of the best views of the Savannah River. From above the water, the hotel has a panoramic view of the Talmedge Bridge, which is illumined at night.Decorated in the appropriate hotel- corporate style, M.D.s still has a nice ambiance, with a wall of glass windows, lots of mirrors, and tables with candles. Three nights a week, performer Randy Smith plays live acoustic music -- beach tunes and pop hits -- from his mammoth songbook, but he also takes request for classics like Brown-Eyed Girl. Theres a full menu available for dinner, including a less formal selection of burgers and wings. --Necee Regis
