Kevin Barrys is a rollicking good time. Located on River Street in Historic Downtown Savannah, this Irish pub is best known for offering five nights a week of live Irish music, with the requisite fiddles, drums, pipes, and pennywhistles and plenty of clapping and cheering from the crowd. The crowd here is a mix of everyone from riverfront tourists, locals, military types from nearby forts Hunter and Stewart, and lots of foreign visitors from Ireland, Australia, and even Russia. The pub is located in a brick and cobblestone building that dates back to 1815; its welcoming interior has an oak bar, hardwood floors and a dining room with a stage for the performers. The staff here is friendly and serves up great food like burgers and sandwiches. You can also get all kinds of Irish fare: shepherds pie, corned beef and cabbage, beef stew and potato soup.
