A great place to fuel up before or after a night out at the Mission bars, you can eat at a small counter or take food out, but it's hard to go wrong in this bargain-priced falafel joint. Though rotating cones of roasting lamb and chicken schwarma are pretty tasty, falafel is Truly Med's specialty. Falafel sandwiches -- with or without pungent feta, fried eggplant or potatoes -- are cheap, tasty, quick and hot. The sandwiches are especially delicious when enjoyed with the renowned carrot juice, but the salty garlic/mint/yogurt drink makes an unusual and refreshing substitute. This is a hole-in-the-wall with rock-bottom prices, but the friendly staff will treat you like you're in a four-star restaurant.
