Rate and Write a Review Bright white tables, mirrored walls, colored lights, friendly wait staff, boisterous crowd, blaring music and strong drinks: Lime became a Castro must-go the very second it opened. The amusing space-age dcor matches its irreverent approach -- the ultra-loud music is often '80s pop and the only uniform is a mod white belt. The couchy front area hosts those who aren't eating, while tables (and two coveted booths separated by an S-shaped divider) stretch to the back. Whether or not you're dining, cocktails are king: Try the kaffir lime gimlet, made with local small-batch vodka Hangar One, or an elegant take on what's known in the neighborhood as "gay Kool-Aid," the cosmo. The small plates seem subsidiary to the overall experience, but there are a few jewels: Airily battered halibut tacos with yummy guacamole puree; beef tartare with kaffir lime oil and a wallop of fresh ginger and pappadum-like rice wafers; and mini hamburgers (great cocktail grub). You'll also find creative low-carb and low-fat options. Don't bother with dessert or wine: This scene is all about small bites, large drinks and a cute crowd.
