Housed in a converted Victorian house on Saratoga's main thoroughfare, Bella Saratoga is a highlight of Big Basin Way's restaurant row. Serving up plentiful portions of hearty Italian food, this quaint indoor/outdoor restaurant is romantic enough for a date, but relaxed enough to bring the kids along -- assuming they're well- behaved. Dinner features favorites like fettuccine Alfredo and chicken parmigiana, as well as a plentiful seafood selection and a succulent filet mignon. Though there's not a bad seat in the house, request a patio table on warmer days. The lush greenery of the gardens provides a wonderful setting in which to enjoy your meal, and also offers prime people-watching. Sunday brunch, which features live jazz when weather permits, is popular with locals and requires an early arrival. But the enjoyable atmosphere and satisfying entrees -- including eggs Saratoga, a seafood omelet and Dutch baby pancakes -- make your wait worthwhile. -- Maya Kroth
