In a loving new take on the Japanese institution, the La Jolla hot spot took the rule book and donated it to a frat house that needed to even out a table leg.Nothing is sacred at The Rock except quality and good times. Leopard-print chairs, brushed stainless steel cut in abstract patterns accentuating tables and fixtures, rock music and sports on monitors above the sushi bar let you know that this restaurant was built for the young and fun loving.Get your wasabi ready for rolls with names such as Orange Crush, a salmon creation. Who else would name a vegetarian roll the Centipede? Feel like bursting out of the norm like a pair of cheap, purple pants? The Incredible Hulk is a New Zealand green-lipped muscle dish baked in a crab cream sauce. And who cares that there's nothing Japanese about a dessert of fallen chocolate souffle with white chocolate gelato?
