Brazil is renowned for its dramatic, fiery culture, but not so many people Stateside know that Brazilian food is equally passionate in preparation. Rei do Gado is a trip southward to a gracious land where "sweet" and "spicy" describe ambiance as well as flavor. Dinner is fixed price, and the servings are unlimited. There is an extravagant side-dish bar, which is a menagerie of cooked vegetables such as marinated eggplant, different soups and ultra-sweet Brazilian dessert favorites, including caramelized fried bananas. But at heart, this is a steak house, and people come to Rei do Gado for the moist, choice cuts of filet mignon, tri-tip or lamb skewered on sabers and roasted over glowing coals. Servers in garb reminiscent of Pamplona bull runners keep bringing the meat, still on the blade, as long as the wooden block on the edge of your table is green-side-up. Full? Flip the block over to the red side and they clear your dishes.

Bring $$$
By deancvrtoprtr on 08/21/2006
Great food, bring an appetite and you'll get your money's worth. If it is your first time go during lunch if possible. That way you can experience it at a economical price. The dinner menu is much higher, and if you aren't hungry it won't seem worth it.

Rediculously good!!
By mikevonludwig on 06/24/2006
A carnivore's paradise. If you like meat, this is without question your restaurant. It's all you can eat and at the weekend prices, you had better come with an appetite and be prepared to make a complete glutton out of yourself. DO NOT TAKE A WOMAN THAT WILL ONLY EAT A SALAD HERE. Definitely a place for the guys to go pig out in style (something about that doesn't sound right, but you'll see when you go)

True Brazilian Churrascaria
By majordrspy on 09/02/2005
I have been to the best churrascaria in Curitiba and Rio de Janiero, Brazil. Rei Do Gado is an authentic replication of what you find in Brazil. I was very glad to see that. Mind you the price was significantly higher than in Brazil but well worth it.

One of my fav. places to go. Been going for the last 3 years and I don't get tired of it. The food is wonderful and so is the staff.
