Bubby's Gelato   

Bubby's has been cozily nestled in its corner of the Lumberyard since the early '90s. Some of the high school kids who used to frequent the little creamery now come back as adults, and new generations are being introduced all the time. There's nothing better after a bicycle ride up the 101 or a day at Moonlight Beach than stopping in for Bubby's cool house-made gelato. Luscious flavors of pistachio, cookie crumble, rum raisin and gooey chocolate slide across the tongue in that dense, silky way that ice cream could never hope to approximate. Gourmet sandwiches offer a good balance to the sweets, and their espresso drinks are the ideal follow-up palate cleanser. The shop is only a countertop with a couple posters of Italy tacked to the walls, but the Lumberyard's ample patio seating near the fountain is all the ambiance you could ever hope for.
