Places like this can't spring up overnight. Everywhere you look, from the movie-size map of Baja and Mexico painted on the ceiling to the photos of favorite customers on the walls, you see -- or more accurately feel -- evidence that this place has been very loved for a very long while. The wood is worn, the pool tables are happily wizened, the shuffleboard game could care less who wins. If none of the 16 beers on tap is doing it for you, there are some eight TVs in there to hold your attention, and on nights when there's a big ball game, no one's attention is anywhere else. Cheers and boos carry for blocks when the packed out house has something to say about a ref's call. Regulars also sing praises of the food, which stays affordable. And unless they live in the 'hood, they moan about the parking, which is never easy in this part of PB. Don't make the trip without some green, either. Cass takes cash, and cash alone.
