Rapscallion's has been serving fresh seafood in a turn-of-the-century San Francisco-style restaurant for more than 18 years. It offers regional fish and meat specialties that showcase the special flavors of every season. The restaurant serves 16 wines by the glass, as well as 150 selections by the bottle, a collection that's won it an Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator magazine. Oyster lovers can sample an array of raw oysters harvested in locales such as Nootka Sound and Chef Creek in British Columbia and Blue Point, Long Island. Mix and match them by the half-dozen. There are a number of salads, including bay shrimp and candied walnut, or chicken, sun-dried tomato and basil. There are steaks and lamb for meat eaters, as well as an assortment of scallops, shrimp, tuna, salmon and other seafood that changes on a regular basis.

Bogus Post on 8/22/2007
By jetreno on 01/16/2008
There is a post on this blog on 8/22/2007 that is bogus. My company, Jet Plumbing, has been the only plumbing company at Rapscallion for 25 years and none of our employees made or ever would make such a post. To start with, we see a lot of kitchens and the Rapscallion kitchen is one of the cleanest. They run a tight ship. Many of our employees and management eat at Rapscallion and we give gift certificates to the Rapscallion to our employees at Christmas. I don't think this would be the case if we had concerns about the kitchen. Posts like the one on 8/22/2007 are ridiculous because the person making the post can hide. AOL should make people be accountable for what they say. And if they can’t do that due to privacy issues, then they should eliminate the service. Someone that has never stepped foot on this continent, let alone the restaurant could have made that post. There are a lot of plausible motives to do so. For example, competing restaurants, competing plumbing companies or just mischievous people. So, trust me, if you want a great meal, from a great restaurant with a staff and a clean kitchen, the Rapscallion is the place to go. Jim Walker Owner - Jet Plumbing

IT JUST DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER
By atlnv13 on 07/23/2007
We reserve Table 16 by the Fire Place every time we need to Dine on Fine Seafood and Perfectly Prepared Sirloin. It Just Doesn't get any Better then This. Rapscallion is the only Resturant in Reno that can hold a Candle to Harrah's Steak House, and Custom Prepared Food served to Members of the Prospectators Clug Upstairs. For Seafood, Rapscallion is Number 1. No Stale Fish at Rapscallion. They Fly in most of their most Critical Fish Meat via Daily Air Freight that is professionally packed. They put all of the Dining rooms in Seattle to shame. If You want the Best, You will keep comming back to Rapscallion, and if You Don't then Perfect as there will be more room for the Kemp's here in Reno to Fine Dine...

Twice I sent my fish back because it smelled bad. Sneeky fish should never leave the kitchen. No excuse, oh if you don't make a reservation, forget about getting a seat. MB, Reno, NV
