A shopping center may seem an unlikely spot for authentic Thai cuisine, but that's where you'll find Cafe de Thai and its accomplished chef. The small dining room is decorated with rattan screens and wooden figures; the tables are covered in traditional Thai fabrics. Combination dinners offer a chance to try an assortment of dishes. Or simply order a number of entrees and share. You'll find Thai standards like crispy spring rolls served with a sweet-and-sour sauce; hot-and-sour shrimp soup; zesty steak salad with greens, mint and peanuts; roast duck curry; and omelettes stuffed with meat and vegetables in a slightly sweet tomato sauce. Finish things off with fried bananas and ice cream or a simple but elegant Thai favorite, sticky rice and mango.
