Our Take Paying homage to a former Raleigh afternoon newspaper, The Raleigh Times Bar is both a hip and historic downtown spot - the history of The Raleigh Times has been preserved in a series of black-and-while photos and the interior design keeps the integrity of the buildings former glory in tact. Dressed up bar food like wings, burgers, sandwiches, salads, chicken fried pickles share the stage with traditional cocktails like Gimlets and Sidecars. Many flock here, though, because it is a much more affordable way to sample the cuisine of Chef Ashley Christensen of Enoeca Vin fame. Erica Hinton
