There are landmarks that the tour guides will tell you about, and then there are others that the local chamber of commerce would just as soon you never heard about. The Foxy Lady can safely be considered part of the latter. However, say what you will about respectable tourists spots, the Foxy Lady ranks right up there with the Waterplace Park and Pawtucket Red Sox as one of the hottest attractions in Rhode Island -- and we do mean hot.

The Foxy Lady is, of course, a gentleman's club, but one that has set the standard for classy adult entertainment in southern New England. OK, classy may be a bit much, but it's as good a strip club as you'll find ... with the crudity kept to a minimum. Tucked away on Chalkstone Ave, the Foxy Lady caters to a class of clientele that fancies a more genteel atmosphere. Taking a cue from the higher-class gentlemen's clubs in Las Vegas, New York, and Houston, patrons are strongly "encouraged" to treat the ladies with the respect that they deserve. If you step out of line, don't be surprised to find yourself politely but sternly asked to leave the premises.

But just because the environment is more refined than your average trucker-route establishment, don't think for a minute that it's any less fun. The Foxy Lady has all the fixings for a good time, including female wresting and boxing with the Beverly Hills Knockouts. That's right, boxing. Trust me, you have not lived until you've seen one of your friends absolutely KO'd by a beautiful woman in a G-string. Incriminating videotapes are available for a modest fee.

How about the dancers? They are, of course, foxy. While I won't bore you with an exhaustive comparison with other strip clubs I've visited, suffice to say that the dancers at the Foxy Lady more than hold their own with dancers from around the country. Heck, they've even boasted students from nearby Ivy League Brown University. Now THAT'S quality. The dancing is sexy but tasteful, and lap dances are reasonably priced, if a little tame. While I wouldn't suggest that the Foxy Lady is the place to take out-of-town business clients, it is certainly a great place to hold a bachelor party or a night out with the boys.

Oh, and did I mention the Legs & Eggs Breakfast? That's right, I said Legs & Eggs. While most of us would not readily associate a visit to a strip club with the most important meal of the day, the Legs & Eggs Breakfast is practically a local institution. Held every Friday from 6 until 11 a.m., make it a point to stop by and experience this somewhat unique buffet.
