Students flock to this little hole-in-the-wall, located at the end of an alley near the historic Paramount Theater. With a name like The Bar, its simplicity seems to be the key that keeps it a favorite among the college set. Despite its nondescript decor, the joint stays busy, as evidenced by the perpetually occupied seats at the long narrow bar. Behind the dance floor and DJ booth, revelers will find pool tables in the back room. Just be patient -- there always seems to be a line of anxious competitors awaiting their turn. Small, dark and living up to its name, this place is about the people who go there for a good time. Try to get in early before the lines get too long. -- Nancy Benson
