If youre looking for a Cheers-style bar with tasty Chinese food, step into this homey, friendly establishment. Youll see all sorts of folks at the bar -- doctors, snowmobilers, teachers, retirees and students. This is the first place students come to get a Volcano Bowl when they turn 21, says Bar Manager Becky Boucher. Its a pretty strong rum drink, and it tastes like Kool Aid.At least half the customers at the bar order food, both Chinese and American, but the people who have been coming back to this bar for 25 years dont really come just for the cuisine. They enjoy the camaraderie and the satellite TV with all the movie channels. When Dennis Silby, a Vietnam veteran and former customer, died, the owner put a plaque on the wall for him. Silbys friends organized a memorial service for him in the bar. We did a toast to him because he loved Grand Marnier, and everybody spoke in his memory, says Boucher. When a regular customer passes on, well put their favorite drink up on the bar, and nobodys allowed to sit in their seat. -- Lauren Kafka
