Rate and Write a Review With sunset views of the Columbia River and Mount Hood and wraparound decks during warmer weather, and there's barely a bad seat in the house at this outpost of the regional chain. During the week, Salty's mostly draws business travelers from nearby airport hotels rather than casual or special-occasion diners from the city. But on weekends, the parking lot fills up and reservations are a necessity. On Friday and Saturday you can sip cocktails and listen to live jazz in the Cafe, the restaurant's scaled-down dining area. Food here isn't as creative or gourmet as the prices might suggest, but everything is freshly prepared and well presented. There's a wide selection of starters, including baked baby brie with fruit; crispy fried calamari with citrus aioli; and tempura- and coconut-dipped tiger prawns with sweet, Thai-chili sauce. The seafood chowder and blackened-salmon Caesar are standouts. Pasta, chicken and beef selections are tasty, but Salty's is, after all, all about seafood: try its wide variety with a wine off the extensive list. On Sundays, Salty's throws a massive breakfast buffet, offering traditional breakfast items, nearly every kind of seafood imaginable and a selection of desserts.
