Parents may feel a little apprehensive as they drive their teenagers down this dark, lonely part of S.E. Second Ave., which is rough with potholes and obsolete railroad tracks. But this is the type of cheap real estate where an all-ages club can thrive, especially when the owners are too good-natured to rip off the bands, or the kids. A steady roster of indie rock, punk, hiphop and experimental shows light up the makeshift stage in the big auditorium. To its credit, Loveland is frequently able to draw nationally touring bands. In the back there's a snack bar and a few arcade games. Smoking is allowed on a covered upstairs porch, only. Upstairs there's also a smaller performance space, more like a living room, for the mellower acts. -- Anne Marie DiStefano
