Puts the rest to shame

Most restaurants in this city are miserably disappointing; salty food, boring menu, ho-hum atmosphere--the Hyeholde is a welcome exception. Having lived in this city for about two years now, I've gotten around to many of the city's so-called "good" restaurants. Either I need to meet some new people or lower my standards of what "good" describes as I've been disappointed time and time again with most of the local offerings. Somehow there is a demented notion that a salad with french fries and an IC Light is an acceptable meal. Even at some of the supposed high-end restaurants this seems to be the case. The only thing high-end about many dining establishments is the price and your blood pressure after you consume the pound of salt used to season your meal. At the Hyeholde, the atmosphere is warm and charming, all of the staff from valet to coat check to server is exceedingly friendly, and the food is wonderful. The menu is interesting because the owner sends the kitchen staff on trips (often out of the state) to other restaurants in order to taste what is being served around the country. This is evident when you look at the menu and see dishes that you simply will not find at most local restaurants--unless they've stolen it from the Hyeholde. Most other menus are just a copy of their neighbors and the baseline offerings, in most cases, are abysmal. However, don't think you'll be getting a bargain-priced meal here. The food is without peer as are the prices. For what most people would pay monthly for their car, you can enjoy a fabulous dining experience for four people. The menu is not designed for the cost-conscious as wine by the glass selections are below par for the level of food served; one is best left to simply buy one of the many wines by the bottle--at a premium of course. A complete meal for two individuals drinking only mixed beverages can easily come to $120 (including tip), throw in a bottle of wine from $80 and up and it may sting a little  More Reviews

This place is so nice compared to the stuffy standards of most steakhouses! I can walk in this place in my pajamas almost and be treated like a king and be served the most mouthwatering steak and lobster you could ever imagine. I can not believe that anyone would not like this steakhouse. I have been there countless times and consistency is always on point here! Steak eaters....YOU OWE IT TO YOURSELF TO TRY THIS PLACE OUT!!!!!  More Reviews
