For years, Melange Cafe has been serving up New Orleans inspired dishes with unique Italian items added. The menu at Melange Cafe is made to order, so the restaurant is able to accommodate most guests' requests. The crabmeat cheesecake is one popular appetizer you may want to try. The dimly lit dining room offers an intimate setting perfect for dinner for two. The restaurant decor is classic and pleasant with walls that are adorned with African-American motifs and mirrors designed to enhance the dining room's size. There is also a large outdoor patio, which is open whenever weather permits. However, two things to note about Melange Cafe are that it's 100-percent smoke-free and also does not serve liquor, although guests may bring their own bottles of liquor to enjoy while dining. -- Christy Barr

Unfortunately I was clearly not impressed. My friend's rack of lamb arrived severly undercooked after she requested well done and when it arrived it was drenched in enough sauce to fill 3 diner's plates. The waiter's attitude was so noticeable I thought he was going to ask us to leave for politely asking him to take it back. My veal medallions were tough, overcooked and drowning in a sea of butter sauce. Both entrees featured bland, overcooked snow peas and potatos that clearly had seen fresher days. I am not brave enough to give the place another try.

On April 1,2003 My wife and 6 yr old son celebrated our Anniversary at Melange it was clearly the best meal we have been sreved in a resturant. The service was excellent and the food was SUPERB. The owner and Chef Joe Brown signed our cookbook and is our New best friend as far as dining is concerned. The crabmeat cheesecake is heavenly as well as the other tasty items on the menu. We will be back REAL SOON Joe.

Oct of 2000 was our first time at Melange. It reminded us a lot of European restaurants. We have been back several times and have never been disappointed. The food selection, flavor and service are excellent. Atmosphere is conducive to romance or business.
