You literally can't miss Gilligan's, not with its famous 30-foot neon shark overhanging the sidewalk in front. But you also can't miss it for the wild and crazy dance party you're sure to find there. Opened since 1995, this massive dance club (capacity 1,400) contains a sports bar, game room and main dance room. The tropical-island- themed dance room has five bars alone -- two huge main bars, a satellite bar, a trough and a specialty bar that serves 114 frozen drinks. The spacious dance floor is covered with a large ocean mural, complete with sharks, mermaids and scuba divers. The loungelike sports bar contains six televisions and a fully stocked bar that's heavy on imported beers. The game room includes four regular and one L-shaped pool table, darts, air hockey and video games. The region's top DJs spin every night, taking requests and playing house, techno, R&B, some alternative, '80s and Top 40 dance tunes, while state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems complete the experience.
