This authentic Irish pub may not be much to look at from the outside, but one step through its red door and you'll feel like you've been transported to a small town outside of Cork. Irish lilts abound and pub missiles pierce the smoky air at this hidden gem of a bar. The low ceilings, half-window lace curtains, dark wood furnishings and white plaster walls really lend an air of authenticity to the place, and the menu offerings of pastry pot pies, stews and soups are hearty enough to satisfy the burliest of Celts. Guinness has even bestowed owner Jimmy Mulvaney with a ''Perfect Pint'' award for his double-pour method. The game of darts is taken seriously here, but if pool is more your game, there are a couple of tables in the adjoining room. The laid-back atmosphere doesn't really lend to speedy service, but people are here to relax, so just go with the flow. And don't be surprised if patrons suddenly burst out in song -- they're just having a good craic. -- Faiyaz Kara
