Talk about romance. The owner of Ti Amo in Laguna Beach witnesses at least three or four marriage proposals each month inside his 1920s restaurant, which is modeled after a Tuscany villa. The interior features low ceilings, an abundance of candles and flowers, gauzy drapes and colors found in Renaissance paintings: pale peach, cream and gold. A brick fireplace, classical guitar music and Italian fare add to the romantic vibe. Start with the thinly sliced beef carpaccio with roasted peppers, then move on to specialties such as the honey-and-chili-glazed jumbo scallops, grilled ahi with sun-dried tomato risotto and honey-roasted duck with sour cherry sauce. More standard Italian fare like veal scaloppini marsala and penne alla pesto are served as well. A stand-out on the dessert menu is the orange-infused ricotta cannolis, which go great with a cappuccino. In case you're planning a proposal of your own, the staff of Ti Amo is happy to help you, whether it involves champagne, roses or hidden rings. -- Victoria Namkung

Wonderful romantic restaurant!
By mandy65 on 03/11/2007
My husband and I went to Ti Amo to celebrate our second wedding anniversary. We sat out on the balcony area, which was so romantic and secluded. We got to look out and see the wonderful surroundings. The ambience was so romantic and pleasant. And, the service is wonderful. We were never low on wine, bread, anything. Scott took such great care of us, and his recommendations were right on! My husband had the chilean sea bass cooked on a cedar plank with julienne vegetables. The combination was so exquisite. You could taste the smoked flavor from the cedar plank but not too overpowering to take away from the flavor of the sea bass or the vegetables. And, I had the filet mignon with garlic mashed potatoes surrounded my a portobello mushroom sauce, which was so amazing. The Manager, Scott, even came out to make sure we were doing well and to wish us a happy anniversary. They then brought us a little dessert to help celebrate the occasion. The entire evening was an absolute delight. We have definitely found the place we would love to celebrate our special occasions. I would recommend this place to everyone looking for a romantic and cozy evening with great service.

Don't Try the Veal!!!
By craziaznboi714x on 11/11/2006
The atmostphere was great, cheap valet parking, and nicely design restaurant. The food was great but a little bit pricey on their alcohol. My girlfriend and I went there for our aniversary. She decided to try something new, the scaloppine carcioffi (veal scaloppine). My god it was disgusting. It ruin our whole dinner and we got into a little fight about the nasty dish she order because I told her not to. The Petto d'Anatra con Cigliege all'agro and the calamari fritti was great. Don't try the VEAL, you will regret it!!! Lasty, the waiter need to work a little faster, took them 15 minutes to give me my water.
