The beauty of this traditional Japanese restaurant is that it caters to the whim of the customer. If you feel like sashimi, youre greeted by expert chefs who scream "irasshaimase!" (welcome!) from behind the sushi bar. Entertaining a large party? Slide your guests into one of the restaurants oversized booths. Interested in a traditional Japanese meal? Request a table in the intimate tatami room where everyone sits on thin mats at low profile tables. The menu is as varied as the restaurants seating arrangements. Sushi and sashimi are readily available, but the house specialty is the kabob (chicken, beef, beef tongue, meatballs, liver and much more on a stick). Vegetarians can rest easy knowing that there are plenty of meat-free items on the menu: the stir-fry vegetable bowls are highly recommended as are the veggie-packed ramen bowls. Of course, one doesnt have to eat to partake in Honda-Yas elegant ambiance -- just slink to the back of the restaurant and enjoy a round or two of sake. The restaurant never closes until 1AM, so theres always a festive atmosphere.
