Newark's Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium (formerly Riverfront) is a jewel among American minor league ballparks. Home to the Newark Bears, concerts, and special event soccer games, Bears & Eagles Stadium sports custom luxury boxes and a newfangled scoreboard more like a weird sort of entertainment than scorekeeper. But this coliseum has more subtle aims, too. Designed more like the grounds of a Scandanavian spa than a cramped ballpark, the stadium entrances seem custom made for crowd movement, and that's important in the most densely-populated area of the most densely populated state in the nation. To further the stadium's leaning toward families, the Bears run instructional clinics throughout the summer for those young fans eager to make a run at joining their idols.
