Rate and Write a Review Hindi for youth, energy, and passion, Yuva is an Indian restaurant that lives up to its name. Skipping distance from the Queensboro Bridge in Midtown, this modern and hip family-run spot is far enough uptown to erase bad memories of stale naan in downtown's low-budget, high-wattage Indian row. Here, the atmosphere is warm and rustic. The kitchen pays homage to the cuisine of the Northwestern region of India that borders on Afghanistan and Kashmir, where the chef Dhandu Ram (Bukhara Grill) is from. The menu is mostly dishes that are tandoori and grilled, or slow cooked, like chicken kebabs, adrak ke panje (ginger lamb chops), shahi korma (lamb with cumin, masala, cinnamon and coriander). Vegetarian selections are available, and worth trying is the chicken biryani, a basmati-based Pakistani/Indian dish with yogurt and turmeric. Yuva, which is also the name of a popular Bollywood film, has a full eat-at bar with creative cocktails like a Kama Sutra, Monsoon Wedding and Vindaloo Margarita.
