Looking every bit like a traveling sideshow, Uncle Jack's 3-D mascot Jack reaches out to you with a plated steak in one hand and a bottle of his special sauce in the other. Push through the heavy, crushed-red-velvet curtains and find a place reminiscent of a Civil War-era parlor room. The hues are rich and warm, and masculine chandeliers hang over the polished wooden tables and tapestry-covered booths. Carrying on the tradition of his godfather's infamous speakeasy, Jacks, William Jack Degel runs this restaurant with the same impeccable standards. His Kobe steaks and organic local produce come from Long Island farms, and he makes service and presentation his No. 1 priority. From Prohibition to the present, Uncle Jack's continues to celebrate the finer things in life.

Good but not great
By mightymike914 on 09/03/2005
I've been to most of the steak houses in NY and I was not impressed with uncle jacks. The filet was good and so were the sides but our waiter was smug and overly friendly. My wife and mom wanted half orders of the lamb chops and the shrimp. when the bill came we were charged for 2 full orders of lamb chops and 2 full orders of shrimp. That is not what we told the waiter we wanted. I felt that to be dishonest and for that reason we will never go back to Uncle Jacks.

how can you say this place is has the best steaks, they slice all the meat without telling you, the servers think they are great, even the one who used to be a manager at the rainbow room. this guy was so full of himself we hated him! overpriced and the room sucks. this place is a joke! go back to queens!
