Fresh, expertly prepared fish headline this Greek taverna, named for a port near Athens. The menu features whole snapper, bass, swordfish, sole or daily specials broiled with olive oil, lemon oregano and garlic, with the flavor of market- fresh seafood shining through. Those indifferent to fish might do well to try the less-expensive paidakia (lamb chops) or classic moussaka. Locals crowd the taverna on Friday and Saturday nights, when live music accentuates the scene. The dining room looks like every other Greek restaurant you've ever visited: threadbare rug, a seaside mural, whole fish on ice, a signed photo of Mayor Rudy. Only the tiny hand-painted china plates hanging near the sputtering oil lamps make a visual impression. But you're not there for the interior. You're there for the fish. -- Dan Kois

Quaint Greek Restaurant

This little secret is among NY's finest - the best service, quality and ambience is perfect albeit a little crowded. I've been there 4 times from CT - and your best bet is driving in - garage is right next door. Cant miss for authentic greek cuisine - try the octopus! Try dolmades - heck try everything!!

A terrific place! The freshest of fresh fish and the friendliest of frienly service. Greek dishes are excellent. Try the arak. Stay late for the music and dancing.
