Spark's secured its place in mob history in 1985 when Paul Castellano got whacked on its doorstep, but this ultra-traditional Italian steakhouse has been catering to heavyset guys with diamond pinkie rings since Prohibition days. Even so, Pietro's rep for first-class beefsteak draws a mainstream monied crowd, and -- especially since the move to sleek new quarters -- the stockbrokers far outnumber the made men. Fare is precisely what you'd expect: hefty grilled steaks, lamb chops, pasta, chicken and shrimp, along with monumental Caesar salads (prepared at your table) that some call the best in New York City. Service is attentive and ingredients are fresh, which goes some way toward rationalizing the formidable price tag. -- Jacob Levich

Caring and attentive service

Most patrons arrive by their own cars. The cars are parked by a valet parker who is very attentive to the patrons. Food served in ample portions and thier steaks and Italian menu is excellant. Service from long time waiters is very attentive to your demands. One of the better steak restaurants of New York.
