Two classic New York food icons have merged, thanks to the acquisition by New World Coffee of Manhattan Bagels. The bagels are baked at only a few of the outlets, but at every Manhattan Bagel in town, you can expect fresh enough and nicely textured bagels to go with your (New World) coffee. All the usual varieties, plus bagel sandwiches and, in most outlets, soups too. Did we forget to mention they have pretty good lox and schmears? Count on it.

This cafe rises above all the other New World cafe. The service, the food, the music...the fusion of indian sitar and instruments with indian film music. The view of the Museum of Natural History is a treat when you want to just relax in the middle of long day. The muffins complement the coffee well. The best are the latte's and chai's. Next time near 79th street, give this place a try.
