Why go home hungry when you can party 'til dawn? Located a few blocks from Broadway, this friendly, no- frills diner is open late (and sometimes all night) and is renowned for its fresh (not refried) fried chicken, corn bread and sides like grits... yes, real grits. Once known only in the 'hood, it was just a matter of time before P. Diddy featured it in one of his videos so now the scene bustles with a mixture of Columbia students, tourists and loyal locals. There are a handful of tables, mostly for couples, so if you're traveling with a group you might have to wait a bit. Or you can opt to do it old-style and eat at the counter while waitresses in hair nets demand, "Whach-y'all want?" Admittedly, the service is -- to put it nicely -- leisurely, so try to be patient and you'll be ordering "the regular" in no time. But if you just can't wait, order takeout. -- Sana Butler
