Unfussy design -- with simple wood paneling and attractive black-and-white prints -- contributes to the relaxed atmosphere, and the back-to-basics menu provides a rustic quality uncommon in the neighborhood. On the other hand, the utilitarian dining room lacks romantic atmosphere, making La Locanda Dei Vini a better restaurant for dinner with friends than for dinner with that special someone. Service is attentive but can be a bit stuffy. A selection of homemade pastas start in the low teens in price, with standard entrees ranging from high teens to the upper 30s.
