Rate and Write a Review Internationally hailed as the enfant terrible of modern-day cooking, Jean-Georges Vongerichten is perhaps one of the best-known and highly regarded chefs in the world. His Eastern-influenced French restaurants -- which also include Vong, Mercer Kitchen, JoJo and Spice Market -- keep him globetrotting at a feverish pace, but his heart still lies in this four-star French affair. Situated in a smallish, spare and elegant Adam Tihany-designed quarter of the Trump International Hotel on Central Park West, the earthy, naturally lit dining room ensures that your focus is on one thing: the food. Eschewing stuffy and complicated dishes, the menu offers clean, simple and aromatic ingredients -- like vegetable juices, fruit essences, light broths and herb vinaigrettes -- in place of cream, butter and traditional meat stocks. The garlic soup with lemon thyme and sauteed frogs legs is a vibrant dish, and other selections -- marinated tuna and hamachi, duck steak, rack of lamb and Arctic char -- are sure to count among the best things you've ever eaten.
