If you have time for only one Brazilian meal in Manhattan, head past Fifth Avenue to the block known as Little Brazil, and Ipanema may offer the best all-round satisfaction. Dcor is bland, but not the thrilling and filling feijoada (a platter of sliced meats and sides dishes that is the country's most famous regional dish), vatapa (a lightly spicy pure of shrimp, fish, nuts and palm oil), Brazilian mixed grill and other robust choices from a talented kitchen staff.
