One of the few reminders that this part of Yorkville used to be heavily populated with Germans. It's still lively at Heidelberg, where the dark wood setting is defied by corny decorations like a stag's head with antlers (swathed in tinsel for the holidays) and a fake arbor hung with plastic grapes. Get old-fashioned by ordering a plate of oversized potato pancakes, which comes with apple sauce and a cherry. Great beers.
