Havana Central expands from its Union Square location into a larger space designed to be reminiscent of those hot sensual nights in the Cuba of yesteryear. However, since the new spot is located in the Midtown of today, the space is also smartly designed to entice the after-work crowd with a cocktail area and long bar that serves beers on draft as well as mojitos and other specialty drinks. For those business folks looking for a quick sit-down lunch, there's a menu rapido, a rather large list of items that will be served within 15 minutes of ordering. And for the rest, sumptuous dishes like signature paella de mariscos dripping with seafood, Havana-style BBQ ribs accompanied by a sweet and spicy mango habanero ginger sauce and pernil asado, succulent slow-roasted pork, should be savored slowly with a glass of sangria in a dining room that is made for indulgence.

Fun atmosphere

Whenever I am in Times Square with friends we usually go to Havana Central. It has a fun atmosphere and the servers are friendly and energetic. The mojitos are a must try.

Best Cuban Food I've Had...

This restaurant was the best cuban food I've had since my late Cuban Grandmother. Being able to taste the same cuisine that she would cook when I was a little girl for the family and sometimes just for me. I thought the service was great. The staff was friendly, it was warm and welcoming in the restaurant, the band was alive and pumping, and the food was well seasoned and hot that I almost burned my lips trying to eat my food. The best thing about this place is that they try to seat you as quickly as possible on their busy days, that's the day I decided to come and visit. I am definately telling all my friends, collegues, and family about this restaurant, hopefully they feel the same way I do.

Good - Potential To Be Better

We had a very nice dinner at Havana Central before going to the theatre on a Saturday night. The place was hopping even before 6:00 p.m. The decor reminds you of Old San Juan and the menu was great. The appetizers were warm not hot - same with my entree. The food, once heated up, was very good and the wait staff was very soliticious and attentive. With salsa in the background all the time and a nice live combo later on - if the kitchen could get its act together and send the food out hot it would be a be a very good restaurant.
