Kind of like Frasier from 'Cheers,' the burger at the original DuMont restaurant was so popular that the owners gave it its own spinoff show. Fans of the DuMont Burger -- which debuted a few years ago at the randomly-named and achingly-hip new American Brooklyn bistro on Union Avenue -- need not worry; its integrity has remained intact on the ride through Williamsburg to this small, spare wooden sandwich shack. The fatty patty on a brioche bun with Boston Bibb lettuce and a thick-cut tomato (with optional cheeses, like Danish blue or gruyere) is still the centerpiece of the limited menu, as is its sidekick, a half-size mini burger. Other Americana favorites that made the cut are the DuMac and Cheese, a couple of simple salads and the sweet onion rings. Thought it's primarily a neighborhood takeout stop, there is also a full bar and a good apple crumble.
