Rate and Write a Review With its low-maintenance vibe punctuated by plastic garden chairs, wooden deck flooring and beer specials, this Tribeca joint doesn't need any gimmicks to stand out from its neighbors. Sandwiched between an open-air garage and an upscale sports car retail outlet, Buster's owners (who also own Freight 410 in Chelsea Market) converted an auto body repair shop into a tangible refuge from pretension. Happily, the food gets a bit more attention than the decor. Executive chef Matthew J. Miluk has created a meaty "hot BBQ" menu with plenty of popular Creole digressions like Joe's jambalaya, pecan crusted 'gator fingers, and "cranky" crawfish cakes. Although it shouldn't be pigeonholed as a sports bar, Buster's is the kind of place where the game is always on, voices are loud and exuberant, and rock 'n' roll blares from the jukebox in the background. -- Ashley Lederer
